Is It Time for New Tires?

Making sure your car’s tires are in good shape is essential for a variety of reasons. One reason is that proper tires can help you get better gas mileage. But even more important is that a good set of tires can help you stay safe on the road. Knowing when to replace your tires can be tricky, but there are ways to help you determine if you need new tires.

Check the Tread Wear Bars

Take a look at the tread wear bars in your tires. These are small, raised bars found within the grooves of your tires between the tread markings. They are placed all around the tire at different points to measure how evenly your tread is wearing down. If you notice the beginning of tread wear bars starting to form between the treads or running across the tires, and they are flush with the tires’ tread, you should replace your tires.
